Installation and New Construction
HVAC installation in Yakima, from floor plan to finished system
Furnaces, heat pumps, central air, ductless mini-splits and geothermal, sized to the house or the floor plan and installed by a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer.
Chapter 01
Sizing the system to the house or the floor plan
A system that is too big cycles on and off before the house has settled, and one that is too small never catches up. The crew starts with the building itself: its square footage, how the rooms connect and what the old equipment was being asked to do. The equipment is chosen to match that, not the other way around.
On a new build the work starts earlier. Paul's AIR FX new construction services are designed to work with your floor plans and square footage to find the most effective and energy-efficient solution, so the equipment and its runs are planned alongside the building.
Replacements have the same job to do. Yakima summers can hover in the 90s and winters frequently dip below freezing, so one house has to carry both a cooling load and a heating load, and the system should be picked with both in mind.

The equipment list covers furnaces, heat pumps and central AC. Paul's AIR FX installs high-efficiency, SEER2-compliant units, so the cooling you buy is rated on a seasonal measure and not a best-day number. A heat pump earns its place here because one unit gives winter warmth and summer cooling.
Ductless mini-split systems suit room additions, wine cellar cooling and vaulted-ceiling homes, anywhere that stretching ductwork to a new space would be awkward. Each space gets its own indoor unit, with one outdoor unit behind it.
Around the main equipment sit the extras people ask for: smart thermostat integration for households that want to manage energy through Yakima's swings in weather, whole-home humidifiers and dehumidifiers to balance moisture, and air filtration and purification for seasonal allergens and dust from the orchards.
Chapter 03
Geothermal: ground loop, heat pump and distribution
Geothermal moves heat between your house and the earth, and Paul's AIR FX specializes in installing these systems.
A geothermal system has three parts. The ground loop is buried piping, either a closed loop or an open loop that works with a lake, pond, well or other water source. The geothermal heat pump sits inside and does the heating and cooling. The distribution system carries the result through the house, either through ducts or through hydronic distribution, a network of fluid-filled piping.
People choose geothermal for high energy efficiency, a low environmental footprint (geothermal energy is emission-free) and a longer equipment lifespan. The trade-off is that these installs are more involved than swapping a furnace, because the loop has to be designed and put in place first. Ask the office whether your property and water source suit it.
Carrier equipment from a Factory Authorized Dealer
Paul's AIR FX is a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer, which is the manufacturer's own name for a dealer it has authorized to sell and install its equipment. The badge sits beside the company logo.
The licenses sit behind the badge too. The company holds an active WA L&I construction contractor license, PAULSAF851UU, and an active electrical contractor license, PAULSAF851DU, with an HVAC and refrigeration specialty.
It is a long-standing, family-owned business with 37+ years of experience in the trade, doing residential, commercial and industrial installs. Every job is quoted in writing after someone has looked at the building.
“They were quick to get us a quote, and were out the next day to replace our heat pump and heat exchanger.” Raeleen Wehrman, Google review.
New equipment lasts longest on sound ductwork, so the air duct inspection and sealing is worth a look at install time. Once the system is running, the Comfort Club keeps it tuned, and if something does go wrong, the crew handles HVAC repair too. Hydronic heating belongs to the boiler work.
