Ductwork
Air duct inspection, sealing and replacement in Yakima
A free on-site vent inspection finds where your ducts lose air, then the crew seals, insulates or replaces them.
Chapter 01
Three warning signs in the ductwork
Ducts hide behind drywall and under insulation, so most people find out they have a problem from the rooms, not the pipes. Paul's AIR FX lists three signs worth a call: inconsistent heating and cooling from room to room; rooms that take too long to heat and cool; and ducts that provide cool air in the winter.
Any one of those points at air escaping before it reaches the register, or at duct runs that have lost their insulation. The furnace or heat pump is often working fine and simply losing what it makes.

A free on-site air vent inspection
Paul's AIR FX offers free on-site air vent inspections. A technician comes to the house, follows the duct runs, and looks for where air escapes and where water may collect.
Water in a duct is its own problem: it points at condensation or a leak, and it is a common source of the musty smell and damp insulation owners notice. You leave with a clear picture of what is wrong and what each fix involves, in writing.
Chapter 03
Sealing and insulation versus replacement
Plenty of duct systems only need sealing and insulation, and that is the less disruptive path. If the metal is sound, closing the leaks and wrapping the runs can bring the rooms back in line without tearing anything out.
If your duct system is more than 20 years old, replacement may be worth considering. New insulated ducts cost less to run than old ones losing air at every joint. During the free consultation, the crew assesses your ductwork and tells you which side of that line it falls on.
AeroSeal duct sealing
AeroSeal seals ductwork from the inside. The system is pressurized, and sealant travels with the air to every leak, building up and hardening in gaps and cracks you could never reach by hand. The sealants are Energy Star-certified.
It suits ducts that are still in good shape but leak at the joints, and it is the same process Paul's AIR FX uses to seal whole buildings with AeroBarrier.
